The Friendship Circle is a social skills group for children ages 4 to 6 looking to build on skills to make and maintain friendships. Children may have challenges in making friends due to anxiety, temperament, being on the spectrum, or having ADHD. Groups are 90-minutes in length, and often align with your child's preschool or school schedule. In this group children learn how to negotiate typical social situations through the use of facilitated play.
In order to see if your child is a good fit for the group I begin with an Intake meeting with the parent(s) or caregiver(s) to get a better understanding of your needs. In some situations I request to observe your child in the preschool or Kindergarten setting, and may need to conduct a brief assessment.* Assessment report from other providers such as the school district or Neuropsychological Evaluations are always helpful, and can fulfill the need for me to complete an assessment.
*Additional fee for the brief assessment. Please see the Psychological Assessment page for more information.
